SCULPTURES AT IMAS
In the Sculpture Garden
On going…
Dactyl, a prehistorically-inspired, bright-red steel sculpture created in 1983 by award-winning sculptor Stuart Kraft, is prominently displayed on the front lawn of IMAS.
Commanding a presence at twenty-one feet tall and weighing an impressive three tons, Dactyl proudly greets all who enter and pass by the museum.
Additionally, the courtyard leading to the Fine Arts building showcases our sculpture garden.
On view are the works of Texas-based and world-famous granite sculptor Jesús Moroles, the expressive and internationally-renowned Mexican bronze sculptor Victor Salmones,
who divides his artistic attentions between New York and the Rio Grande Valley.
