![]() Amador Montes - "Reencuentro " May 6, 2010 to August 8, 2010 Opening Reception: Thursday, May 6, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Reencuentro is an exclusive collection of paintings created especially for IMAS with a remarkable bird theme. Tales and anecdotes told by his father as a child, played an influential role in Amador’s creative journey and would later materialize in his artwork as an adult. A student of graphic design, Amador Montes devotes himself to painting as a fundamental way of expression. Montes is also and illustrator, photographer and textile designer and belongs to the next generation of Mexican artists. His artwork has been exhibited in countries such as Canada, Spain and South Korea., and is collected worldwide. Selections of Amador’s work are prominently displayed at ZM Gallery in Art Village on Main, in McAllen. Artwork for this exhibit will include original pieces done especially for the International Museum of Art & Science. The International Museum of Art & Science acknowledges the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, ZM Gallery, Lone Star National Bank and Pineda Covalin for their invaluable support towards bringing Reencuentro to McAllen, and for helping to increase cultural awareness of the work of renowned Mexican artists.
