Genome: The Secret of How Life Works

Did you know that everyone’s DNA is 99.9% alike and only .1% makes us different? Or have you ever wondered what your children might look like? Stop wondering and come explore the unique elements of the human genome at Genome: The Secret of How Life Works and see how your genes hold the secrets to where you came from, who you are, and who you might become.

Genome: The Secret of How Life Works is a national traveling exhibit that provides an interactive and accessible look at the human genome. This 5,000 sq.ft. exhibit is designed for the entire family, and encompasses four sections, each of which will use engrossing environments, artifacts, multi-media, and innovative graphics to reveal the mysteries of our genes, the last two centuries of discovery and the implications of gene therapy for the future of medical science.

Genome: The Secret of How Life Works, will answer common questions and correct frequently-held misconceptions that surround the human genome, tackling topics such as genetic predetermination, the nature of mutations and the very slight differences in genetic material that separate one human being from another. See how factors such as heredity and our environment shape us. Also learn how DNA analysis has helped to solve crimes and mysteries. Come discover more amazing facts and learn what makes you so you and immerse yourself in this interactive exhibit.

Genome: The Secret of How Life Works is a special admission exhibit. Admission will be "FREE" for IMAS Members and a special admission rate of $5.00 per person (ages 4 and up) will apply for non-members.
