Science LabSupported by the McAllen Public Utilities Board, the Science Lab features the stream table and our family of live animals. Each week, different experiments are set up in the lab for children to try with their parents. Art Studio The Art Studio is available for children to "create and take" their own masterpieces. Each week, children are invited to create their own work of art. Family Art Quest - Backpack Game Family Art Quest is Back with New Clues For You! This summer's Family Art Quest Backpack features a portion of our colorful and vivid mosaics which are permanently on display inside and outside of IMAS. Borrow a bright blue backpack filled with treasure hunt clues and see if you can find parrots, marbles, and even coffee cups embedded in our mosaics as you follow the clues around the museum. Your children will enjoy playing detective so much they won't even notice they are also learning a bit about history, patterns, and art design while they hunt. Come look for hidden treasures at IMAS with our Family Art Quest Backpacks! IMAS is also excited to offer this Family Art Quest Backpack activity in both English and Spanish! Family Fun Night Every Thursday from 5pm-8pm, special activities and demonstrations are set up in the Science Lab and Art Studio. Click here to see this month's Family Fun Night activities. IMAS Express IMAS invites all visitors to climb aboard the IMAS Express and expand their imaginations to the creativity world of recycled art activities.
