Nancy Moyer - "The Bicameral Face" Saturday, November 20, 2010 through Sunday, April 3, 2011 A Conceptual Theory through Digital Photographs Artist, writer and professor Nancy Moyer journeys into the fascinating workings of the human mind in her intriguing exhibit "The Bicameral Face". "The Bicameral Mind" explores the complex characteristics of the left and right side of the brain, facial symmetry, human emotion and dual personalities that exists all of us. How does she do this? Using digital manipulation, Nancy Moyer features a series of portraits that express 13 photographed subjects in Bicameral mode. By splitting the image, Moyer is able to represent the different identities or personalities of each individual by analyzing their facial expressions and the left/right functions of the brain. Inspired by Julian Jaynes’ Bicameral Mind theory, "The Bicameral Face" is must see exhibit. An Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will include food and refreshments, and an exhibit synopsis by artist Nancy Moyer.
