![]() Christmas Tree Forest - "Christmas at the Movies" Saturday, November 20, 2010 through Sunday, January 2, 2011 It’s that time of year again! The annual Christmas Tree Forest returns to your museum to continue a tradition lasting over 30 years. This year's theme is "Christmas at the Movies" and all participants have dedicated ample time and effort into decorating their trees inspired by a favorite movie or movie star! Using only handmade materials, the Christmas Tree Forest is a great opportunity for participants to use their imagination and show off their artistic talents for this annual public display. For over 30 years the IMAS has presented the Christmas Tree Forest, this annual exhibit is one of very few that are totally derived from community input and contribution. The museum provides the trees, while the IMAS Guild, with staff support, chooses the theme. Each tree is entirely the product of the creativity and craftsmanship of participating schools, businesses and organizations. All trees are judged community arbitrator who awards a ribbon for the winning trees in each category. Please see the categories listed below: Pre-K - 2nd grade An awards ceremony hosted by the IMAS Guild will take place on Sunday, December 5th from 2pm – 4pm to present the awards and prizes to the winning trees! For the first time, IMAS will also present the Facebook Fan Favorite – which is decided by IMAS’ Facebook Fans. Click here to vote for your favorite Christmas Tree via Facebook. (Facebook voting begins Nov. 20 and ends Dec. 4th). Be sure to come by your museum this holiday season to enjoy Christmas at the Movies and to share in the spirit of the holidays with your community.
